Secondary level
(Fenton) Book & CD. Presented in English. A colourful PowerPoint presentation to introduce Paris with photos, maps, vocabulary, note-taking sheets, culture and activities. Humour included! The five étapes are: Paris, l'Île de la Cité; Notre-Dame, l'Hôtel de Ville, le Louvre; l'Axe Historique Jusqu'à la Défense; La Rive Gauche; Montmartre, l'Opéra, le Centre Pompidou. Book includes vocabulary, student activities and exercises, culture terms, questions in French and English and more. With this CD a teacher can present the layout of Paris to students in preparation for a "Vitrual Residence Language" course. If the students are going to "live" in their own apartments in Paris for the year as they learn French, they will have to get to know the city.
There is a suggestion for a short "Étape Rapide".
Use it later to go further in depth into descriptions of the places.
Use it to supplement your text information on Paris.
Feature one place a day or week.
Use the slides for culture contexts for teaching vocabulary, grammar, or verbs. Ex. Use the Eiffel Tower slide to introduce MONTER in the passé composé
CD & Manual (107 pp)
