This video shows how Mardi Gras continues in New Orleans. It provides a historical perspective of the Mardi Gras celebration and New Orleans and the reaction to the adversity brought on by Hurricane Katrina. We follow the teachers and students of KIPP McDonogh 15 School, located in the French Quarter of New Orleans, as they prepare for their future and celebrate Mardi Gras.
The video promotes listening skills and cultural literacy.
